FOREWORD |
After a long
run above, I was looking for a nice place to vacation, you know, take a
little break from the spirit world. So I get a complementary ticket from the
main boss. I figured the big guy knew I had been working
hard - you know - doing spirit stuff and all. And hey, I wasn't going to
argue with my creator on the unknown destination! No bags to pack, one just
goes. At the terminal, my bus pulls up to the curb. I'm getting on with a
long line of people as we shuffle through the door.. I began
to imagine all the wonderful sights I'd see. Maybe take a spin around the
Milky Way, make a few stops to catch up with friends who'd left before me -
see what they were up to? I mean 'eternity' is a really big place - there are a lot of colorful spots in the universe - who knows what adventure
I'd find along the way? I figured wherever God was sending me should be a
lot of fun - why not be surprised? So, when the celestial bus driver asked for my ticket to stamp it with the destination, I thought this should be interesting? He looked at me and asked if I checked the stub before I boarded? 'No, I thought it would be nice to go along for the ride - wherever it took me?' He gave me a weak smile, told me to take a seat - saying he'd let me know when I got there. And oh yes...no side trips along the way - there'd be no 'layovers' for this one. After awhile, I got curious, took the ticket stub out of my pocket and took a look at it. 'EARTH, OH SHIT, WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS? A more seasoned spirit glanced over and said, "your first time?" I told him 'yeah', he looked at me with a slight smile, "well, it is a learning experience - next time, negotiate location and time before you agree to take the pass - and for heaven's sake, do YOUR homework!" Surprises are not always a good thing - lesson learned! This life has been an experience - maybe its karma, maybe something I have to learn and experience to better appreciate the spirit world I left behind. Granted, we all eventually return to it. Here on Earth, we are conceived, born, live and die. We usually are inquisitive, learning what we need to hopefully survive while we are here. There are those good decisions, bad decisions and a whole lot in-between. We really have no idea what we are getting into as newborns, and our parents have no idea what they will get? And we don't know how long we will be here - that's pretty much fate...you don't get a roadmap for guidance...but if you are smart, you read a primer that is called the Bible for some of the answers. Other stuff you learn from your parents, friends, teachers, co-workers and enemies, along with just plain 'first-hand' experience. And, no matter what you do, not everyone you meet along the way is going to like you. Earth is a very imperfect place to be. So, this is my journey as a human being on planet Earth. It takes place partially in the twentieth and twenty-first century. I can tell you from experience, we are individuals - and that can be good and bad, depending on your personal circumstances and the tools life gives you to work with. To my progeny who read this - consider it part of your history lesson. Knowing a few things in advance, may help you avoid the negative experiences I've had in my time here. Hopefully you'll get at least one important lesson from the text. The biggest one is treat people as you wish to be treated - but don't expect anything in return. If you do, many times you'll be disappointed. Don't believe everything anyone tells you, do your own homework as you move forward. And for heavens sake, learn - the more you do, the better life becomes. Make education your friend, not your enemy. Have fun in discovering new things. Okay, lets get down to business. This is my story and my name is Andrew Boggs, BA. I never got rich, I took a lot of beatings - I've done some things well, and other things I should have put a lot more thought to before I started. I won't be able to write the final chapter, that will be up to historians to tackle after I'm gone. In the chapters to follow, you'll learn a lot of things about me. Better I tell my own story, than depend on someone else to do it. Sometimes people will look at your old pictures, and never get to know you as an individual. Or worse yet, say something that isn't true based on their own prejudices towards you. Sad when that happens - you only see the tip of an iceberg, not what's below the surface. Its obvious I can't cover 'moment-to-moment' details...but I'll do my best to give you the highlights! ...so, strap yourselves in, there is a lot of turbulence on this trip!-)
